Speech State Tournament Information
Please be sure to read ALL the information on the Tournament website so you don't miss any deadlines.
In order to promote safety during the global pandemic, the tournament will be hosted in a virtual format this year rather than a large in-person event that traditionally brings students together from all areas of the state to the University of Texas campus. All events at the tournament will be virtual in format. Students may compete from their school campus or home, whichever provides the most reliable technology and Internet. All rounds will be synchronous (live). We will be using Speechwire.com as the tournament management system and NSDA Campus/Zoom for video-conferencing.

UT Student Activities Conference
The UIL Student Activity Conference scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31 at the University of Texas at Austin has been canceled due to inclement weather. Thunderstorms, floods and forecasted rain throughout the night could make travel to the event dangerous. To help protect the safety of all participants, the UIL has made the decision cancel the Student Activity Conference at the University of Texas at Austin. There are no plans to reschedule this event.
Congress Legislation Due
September 10 (today) is the deadline for each school competing in UIL Congress to submit your legislation to your District Clerk. If you have not yet submitted your school's bill or resolution, go to the Congress page of the UIL website and use the online interactive Legislation template for correct formatting. District Clerk contact information can also be found on the Congress page.
