FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX— Bands from across the state will compete for top honors at the 2014 UIL State Marching Band Contest to be held November 3-4 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

The Conference 4A bands will compete on Monday, with the preliminaries beginning at 9:00 a.m., and the finals beginning at 6:30 p.m.  The Conference 6A competitions will be held on Tuesday, starting at 7:30 a.m. for the preliminaries, and 8:30 p.m. for the finals.

Tickets for the State Marching Band Contest are $20 for adults and $15 for students for each session (prelims and finals). An adult one-day pass ticket, which may be used at both prelim and final sessions the same day, is available for $32. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster or at the gate. The box office will open 1 hour, 30 minutes before the first performance. Access to a live video feed will be provided through http://www.mrvideoonline.com for $10.00 for a one-day pass and $18 for a two-day pass.

Nationally recognized judges who have distinguished themselves as band directors and music educators will decide the State Champions.

Conference 4A participants include: Pecos, Burnet, La Feria, Canton, Paris North Lamar, Abilene Wylie, Wills Point, Longview Spring Hill, Port Isabel, Kennedale, Pearsall, Orange Little Cypress-Mauriceville, Big Spring, Melissa, Springtown, Atlanta, Kingsville King, Argyle, Fredericksburg, Robinson, Princeton, Rio Grande City Grulla.

Conference 6A participants include: Galena Park North Shore, Frenship, Northside Clark, San Antonio Johnson, Lewisville Hebron, Coppell, Edinburg North, Round Rock Cedar Ridge, Fort Bend Austin, Spring, Marcus, Garland Rowlett, Friendswood, Keller, Houston Cypress Falls, Westlake, Conroe The Woodlands, Northside Taft, San Angelo Central, Richardson Berkner, Austin Bowie, Haltom City Haltom, Houston Cypress Fairbanks, Northside O’Connor, Pearland, San Antonio Reagan, Duncanville, San Benito, Fort Bend Clements, El Paso Coronado, Dickinson, Lewisville Flower Mound, Brownsville Lopez, Round Rock Westwood, Pearland, Harlingen.
