AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Monday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for potential rules violations.

A student-athlete from Dickinson High School was denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.

Wildorado High School Head Football/Basketball Coach Deke Carter was issued a one-game suspension in football, one-game suspension in basketball, three year’s probation, a public reprimand and additional training.

The Wildorado High School Athletic Department was also placed on three years probation.

Henderson High School Coach Crystal Mills was issued one-year suspension, three year’s probation, a public reprimand, and will need to reappear before the State Executive Committee before accepting a new position within the UIL.

Ivanhoe Rayburn High School Basketball Coach Kenny McGowen was issued one-year suspension, two year’s probation, and a public reprimand.
