AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Monday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for UIL rule violations.
A student-athlete from Gunter High School was denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.
Another student-athlete from Gunter High School was granted an appeal for varsity eligibility barring a residency waiver. After hearing testimony from all parties, it was determined that this student did not change schools for athletic purposes.
El Paso Bowie High School coach Pedro Lugo was issued a two year probation and a public reprimand.
Texarkana Texas High School coach Eric Cross was issued a suspension for the remainder of the basketball season and the first week of competition for the 2026–27 basketball season, along with a two-year probation and a public reprimand.
Seguin High School coach Philip Redux was denied an appeal of a coaching ejection and was issued one year probation and a public reprimand.
Liberty Hill Santa Rita Middle School coach Justin Simank was granted an appeal of a coaching ejection.
Rockport-Fulton High School coach Travis Lancaster was denied an appeal of a coaching ejection and was issued one year probation and a public reprimand.
