AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Wednesday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for UIL rule violations.
Student-athletes from Melissa High School and Hamshire-Fannett High School were denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.
Dallas Gateway Charter Academy Athletic Director Byron Eaton and the school’s athletic department were issued three year’s probation and a public reprimand. The school’s current suspension from UIL Athletic Activities has been lifted.
