AUSTIN, TX— Two students were granted varsity athletic eligibility and sanctions were handed down to schools as a result of decisions made by the State Executive Committee of the UIL Wednesday.

Coaches from Arlington Lamar and Fort Hancock High Schools were issued a public reprimand and one-year probation for UIL rule violations. Additionally, the former athletic director from Slaton High School was issued a public reprimand and suspended from coaching for three years for repeated UIL rule violations.

In other action, students from Denton Guyer High School and Odessa Permian High School were granted eligibility for varsity athletics.

The One Act Play programs at Austin Reagan, Ft. Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis and New London West Rusk High Schools were issued a public reprimand and one-year probation for failure to participate in the 2006-07 school year.
