CCP/Trainings Questions
- When will CCP/trainings be available?
- CCP/trainings are now available in the UIL Rank One Portal. In order to be properly scheduled for CCP/trainings modules, each coach will need to make sure their UIL role(s) and their sport specific coaching assignments (if applicable) are accurate and up to date in Rank One. Contact your school's Rank One administrator to make sure your roles and sport specific coaching assignments are up to date and accurate.
CCP/trainings modules and trainings are accessible in the user Profile under Compliance Forms.
- I took CCP courses at the TGCA and/or THSCA summer conferences. Where is my credit?
- As of July 30th, all credits from TGCA and THSCA have been uploaded in the portal and should be credited on accounts. If you are not seeing your credit, you need to make sure that you have attached your association member number to your account in Rank One.
On your account, click Coaching Associations > +Add Membership > Select the Association and enter your member number > Click Save
- I thought concussion training was required by state law, why is it optional in the UIL Portal?

The 1-hour concussion course provided in the UIL Portal for CCP is new this year. We implemented it to provide districts with easy access to a 1-hour course that satisfies the state law concussion training requirement.
After receiving feedback from districts that had already established a different process and were using other approved concussion courses, we changed the 1-hour course designation in the system to optional. This allows districts that want to use the UIL course to meet the state law requirement to do so, while districts that have chosen a different approved course, such as EduHero, may continue using that option.
If district choose a different provider for the concussion training, coaches who have completed it do not need to take the optional 1-hour UIL concussion course. They should simply upload their completion certificate into Rank One to document compliance with the state law.
- How do I access CCP/training courses?
- CCPs and trainings are active in the Portal. The trainings are located in each users My Profile (top right) under Compliance Forms.
If a coach / user does not have any trainings, administrators need to make sure that the they have updated each users sport specific coaching assignments AND their specific UIL Roles.
- I am a First Year Texas Coach, how do I access the Fundamentals of Coaching – First Year Texas Coach CCP Course?
- If you are not scheduled for a specific training or see it in your training list, you need to make sure that you have First Year Texas Coach added under your UIL Roles on your profile. Once this role is added, the Fundamentals of Coaching course will be added to your trainings.
After your first year is complete, you can remove this role on your profile and will not need to take the course again.
- I am a Game Administrator, how do I access the Game Administrator CCP Course?
- If you are not scheduled for a specific training or see it in your training list, you need to make sure that you have Game Administrator added under your UIL Roles on your profile. Once this role is added, the Game Administrator course will be added to your trainings.
- I am a High School coach missing my sport specific training.
- If you are not scheduled for a specific training or see it in your training list, you need to make sure that the school has updated your user sport specific coaching assignments as well as your specific UIL Roles on your profile. Once these assignments/roles are adjusted, the system will know which sport specific courses to add to your trainings.
Administrators need to check the account in question and add Coaching Assignments as well as UIL Roles.
- I am a Junior High/Middle School coach, what training do I need to take?
- All Junior High/Middle School coaches are required to complete the following five modules:
1. Ethics and Sportsmanship
2. Concussion (state law – UIL course now counts as 1 hour)
3. Steroid Education
4. Safety Training
5. Junior High Athletics
**Important: Junior High/Middle School coaches DO NOT complete a sport-specific training module, regardless of the sport they coach.
In addition to the online modules above, coaches must also complete the following requirements:
1. Best Practices in Tackling – Football coaches only
2. Fundamentals of Coaching – First Year Coaches only
- I am a High School coach, what training do I need to take?
- All high school coaches are required to complete the following six modules:
1. Ethics and Sportsmanship

5. Constitution and Contest Rules
6. Sport specific training - each sport has a separate module
In addition to the online modules above, coaches must also complete the following requirements:

- I am a Wrestling Weight Assessor; how do I access the Wrestling Weight Assessor CCP Course?
- If you are not scheduled for a specific training or see it in your training list, you need to make sure that you have Weight Assessor added under your UIL Roles on your profile. Once this role is added, the Weight Assessor course will be added to your trainings.
The weight assessor modules are only accessible to those that have an account in Rank One through a school district. If you need to complete the weight assessor training, but are not an employee of a school district, you will need to contact a school district that you work with, and they will need to create an account for you associated with their district to access the training.
- I am an administrator, how do I check my coaches for compliance and if they have completed their CCP trainings?
