FOX SPORTS SOUTHWEST TO DELIVER EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE OF 2017 UIL FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

FOX Sports Southwest today announced its coverage plans for the 2017 UIL Texas High School football state championships from AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The network’s exclusive live game coverage will begin Wednesday, Dec. 20, and feature 12 championship match-ups over the course of four days, concluding with the 6A Division II title game on Saturday, Dec. 23.

In addition to FOX Sports Southwest’s live game coverage, which will include Ford Championship Live shows between games and High School Scoreboard Live immediately after the final postseason tilt, the network will also deliver extensive programming in the days leading up to kickoff. Championship Week programming will include:
•       The Road to the Championship Preview Show, providing in-depth analysis for each of the 12 title games.
•       Replays of previous UIL Texas High School state championships, allowing fans to relive classic games from years past.
•       A special 30-minute show titled Texas Football Days: The Features, highlighting and celebrating high school football’s intimate role in Texas culture.
All of FOX Sports’ UIL football coverage – including games and original programming – will also be available on FOX Sports GO (FOXSportsGO.com), a free app that provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content through programming distributors.
A pair of Six-Man contests will launch live game coverage on Wednesday, Dec. 20, and be available to stream on FOX Sports GO only. All remaining games will be televised on either FOX Sports Southwest or FOX Sports Southwest Plus.
In some markets, the 2A Division I game on Dec. 20 at 7:00 p.m. and 5A Division I game on Dec. 22 at 7:00 p.m. will be carried on FOX Sports Southwest Plus due to overlap with NBA broadcasts on FOX Sports Southwest. Additionally, the 3A Division II tilt on Dec. 21 at 7:00 p.m. will be televised across all markets on FOX Sports Southwest Plus.
Reigning Texas Sportscaster of the Year Craig Way, along with Ted Emrich and Ron Thulin will split play-by-play duties for the game broadcasts. Former Port Arthur Jefferson High School and Texas A&M wide receiver Shea Walker, former Graham High School coach Brad McCoy and former Crowley High School and New York Giants linebacker Gary Reasons will rotate as analysts.
Randy McIlvoy, Sarah Merrifield and CT Steckel will provide on-the-field updates as sideline reporters.
Ford Championship Live shows hosted by Ric Renner will be televised between games and include analysis from Texas High School football coaching legend Ken Purcell, recruiting expert Randy Rodgers and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football managing editor Greg Tepper.
High School Scoreboard Live will air Saturday, Dec. 23, at 11:00 p.m. and recap FOX Sports Southwest’s extensive coverage with highlights and expert analysis from every championship game.

Throughout the week, high school football fans will find exclusive content, videos and analysis on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and FOXSportsSouthwest.com.
