Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 25
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: I like for debaters to set the standards for the round for themselves and did their opponents up front and evaluate at the end who they think won the round and why.

LD

Rounds judged: 100
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
I’m a pretty traditional LD judge, I want it to remain a values debate. I like for debaters to give clear speeches.
