Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: stock issues should have a clear link and inherency. I'm unlikely to vote on nuclear war or other catastrophes without a strong probability. stay on topic.

LD

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
this should be a value focused debate and if you can't win the value-debate or address the value-debate I'm upset (maybe not an automatic disqualifier). I prefer for LD debate to be distinctly different from CX debate in style and purpose.
