Judging qualifications:
Qualifications: - I am a Technical Theatre teacher with a degree from TAMUCC which included education in UIL Speech and Debate events. I have judged and now coached in the Corpus Christi ISD Speech and Debate circuit for over a year now and have learned how to judge through attending tournaments and learning how events work. Philosophy: - I believe that each competitor has the right to be treated fairly by all judges, that each round must have equity from the judge and that competitors must be given the opportunity to learn from each round, each judge, and each competitor they debate against. It is my obligation as a judge and coach to ensure that each round is executed fairly, without bias, and allows each competitor to compete fully.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: Each competitor must remain civil and respectful during the debate. I appreciate a clear argument/stance on a topic full of credible sources that are clearly emphasized. I do not appreciate spreading unless it is executed well meaning important sections of speech relevant to your topic and clearly emphasized. I look for a well prepared speech that is well understood by the debater who has good understanding of the topic at hand.
