Judging qualifications:
I coach all events and have for 28 years. I have taken students to state in everything but poetry. And I have state finalist in congress. I qualify students to nationals and TFA state every year. My philosophy is to be the judge in the round, judging off what is done IN ROUND and not what I personally think or prefer. I do not believe it is my job to have arguments but to judge what arguments are made in a debate. In speech, I weigh analysis and answering the question a little more heavy than just style and delivery. In interp, I look for levels and connection to the literature and want to see performances that fit the categories.

Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: I love to see this be an exercise in policy advocacy. I like the focus to be on stock issues as well. I will vote on progressive strategies if they are the compelling arguments in the round. I can flow very quickly but I still want to see you communicate with me.
