UIL Speech Judges

Judging qualifications:
I am an interper at heart, but I am qualified to judge extemp as well. My undergraduate degree is in theatre, and my graduate degree is in speech communication with an emphasis in performance studies. I coached high school individual events in Mississippi and Academy, TX, and college individual events at both the University of Louisiana at Monroe and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I primarily see speech as an educational activity rather than as a competitive one. As such, I believe ballots should reflect positivity and suggestions for improvement. I am less concerned with unwritten rules than I am with fundamentals of good presentation.
