Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy:
Paradigm: I mostly vote on the team that argues the point of their policy the best. I do not strictly judge based on stock issues however, if multiple issues are continuously dropped I will vote in favor of the team that consistently refutes arguments and/or upholds the burden of proof.

LD

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Philosophy:
I have never competed in LD nor have I ever judged so I consider myself to be more of a lay judge in this category. However, based on my previous knowledge on the social issues addressed in LD debate, I would assume that communication on the issue would supersede resolution of issues.
