Judging qualifications:
I was an active and dedicated participant of my high school's debate team, serving as secretary, vice president, and president for the club. I have participated in numerous tournaments and racked up more than 900 NSDA merit points. My experience ranges from debating for parent judges to spreading in rounds with college debate judges. Additionally, I have judged prior debate tournaments and understand the importance of the judge in the round and the role they must play.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Other (please explain below)
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I use an amalgamation of a Policy Maker/Hypothesis Testing/Tabula Rasa paradigms to approach the round. As a whole, this means that my beliefs about debate and the mechanisms employed in the round factors into my judging, but I will never make a decision that is not based on the content of the round. I think it is up to the debaters to make an argument if I am to vote on it; if the affirmative makes a wild assumption about the world that is not necessarily true but the negative does not challenge this, I will act as though this assumption is true when writing my ballot (but will provide necessary comments on it in feedback). I also have specific views on mechanisms of debate posted on my Tabroom paradigm!
