UIL Speech Judges

Judging qualifications:
I believe that this, and all events, are intended for the success of the student. I believe it is important to provide sound feedback that will encourage student growth and development in the event. I coached speaking events at a previous school, and am currently beginning my 4th year as the speaking coach at Woodsboro. I am also the band director and music teacher at the district, so my job focuses primarily on performance standards. This allows me to have a tremendous variety of methods to improve performance based and interpretive events. I hold a second masters degree in English and also have experience teaching language arts and reading at many grade levels. I think my strengths in both literature and performance allow me to judge speaking events from a very broad perspective.
