UIL Speech Judges

Judging qualifications:
With extemp judging, I look for solid speech organization that makes logical sense and organizes well for the listener. In extemp, I also want explanations, justifications, facts and citations. With oral interpretation, I want a performance to be believable first. Does the performer inhabit the thoughts and feelings of the selections. I like to see naturalness in delivery with all of the characteristics of this, including variety of speech, effective speed or pausing, etc. Beyond these basics, I will look for uniqueness and creativity.
