Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 9
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I am a stock issuers judge. I will vote based off of what I am able to flow. If the student is speaking so fast that I am not able to understand an argument or can’t hear it, then it can’t be counted. I weigh speaking clearly very high but I also am going to be examining the arguments, the stock issues, etc. I also believe the status quo is innocent until proven guilty meaning the Aff has the job to show me that beyond a shadow of a doubt they are not only looking at a real problem but they are fixing it as well.
