Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: Students needs to be able to intelligently present their evidence in a way that is persuasive. Massive quantities of evidence are useless if one does not use them persuasively. While I understand the necessity for speaking quickly in order to present all of one's evidence, if the speed gets in the way of understanding, then one should cut pieces of evidence in order to effectively prove that one's evidence creates a case that is effective and persuasive.

LD

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
One must effectively communicate that one's value and criterion are superior than their opponents. One must manage their time effectively in order to present one's arguments thoroughly and to prove that their opponents value, criterion, and contentions are weak. If one does not effectively address the key arguments presented, then one has not achieved their objective.
