Judging qualifications:
I am a licensed attorney in the Austin area. I have judged and helped organize several debate competitions and am eager to continue to support this program. Participating in Speech and Debate in high school led me to pursue a career in law. I look at this as an opportunity to cultivate similar passions in high school students by helping them grow their oratory and persuasive abilities.

LD

Rounds judged: 6
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
The debater must tell me how their value and criteria link and why it should be held to a higher value. I look for drops and gaps in the debaters’ arguments. Strong communicative skills will win if substantive issues are weighed relatively evenly.
