I want speeches to be fluent, fast but not unintelligible, and very informative. Any claim that has an impact should have a cute. This includes Extemp.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I'm ok with any type of argument, but Topicality arguments should be calling out actual violations, not just used as a time suck. Ks should not be extreme. I prefer a solid capitalism Kritik over a standard colonialism K. I dont think debate is a space for political/socioeconomic revolution, but hey if you can convince me, go for it. I'd rather have a good politics or impact calc debate over a K alt/theory debate.

LD

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Philosophy:
I really dislike Kritiks in LD. I'm against LD becoming a shorter policy. V/C debates should be held, I want discussions of why your criterion is more important than the other. No plan texts other than an entire defense of the topic or entire negation of the topic. No inbetweens (like policy)
