I went to CX State in 2016 and 2017 and advanced to day two in 2016. I have judged before at invitational competitions and have been invited back several times. I am a stock issue judge, but in general am open to anything that will be the terms of the debate, so mild tabula rusa.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 5
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I am open to most anything in the round. I am a stock issue judge and love a well thought out plan. I do not like kritiks, but am a fan of counterplans, topicalities, disadvantages, and so on.

LD

Rounds judged: 2
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
Whoever wins the flow for value and criterion will win automatically. In the event that those are inconclusive, I will begin to weigh the contentions.
