Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 8+
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: Most T's are time wasters, theory is fine as a response to K, K's are good but I prefer alts to be realistic. Stock issues debater in HS, late stages theory.

LD

Rounds judged: 8+
Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Philosophy:
K's have to be realistic or we go into substantive focus which I believe is the primary purpose of LD anyway. K's and outlandish theories with low impact harms or bad alt's bother me. Also, a higher pref to clarity over speed as I believe LD you don't need speed.
