Judging qualifications:
Prose and poetry interpretation are contests which should be preformed from the heart. A successful contestant should select a piece that speaks to them as well as to their audience, while successfully meeting the criteria. As a high school contestant, coach of over 10 years, and judge of invitational, district and regional meets, I understand the criteria needed for a contestant to perform successfully. I have experienced all aspects of the poetry and prose contest.
