Judging qualifications:
I was very active in high school competing in a host of events. I primarily competed in CX. My partner and I qualified for two years in CX. I qualified in extemp. I also competed in prose regularly. After high school, I could not meet the requirements of my college team, so I no longer competed. For a time, I did judge tournaments. It was such a valuable experience for me that I would love to be able to help others participate in these events. As a CX-er, I tend to be more stock issue in my judging approach, but will always listen to a judge appropriately all participants.

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I am a stock issues judge. I feel it gives a good context to the round and an appropriate way to judge. I'm not a fan of topicality as a time suck. If you have a good argument make it, but don't use topicality too much. I'm looking for good communicators, and don't mind speed as long as the debaters are still communicating clearly. If you can't give a clear road map, don't provide. Being respectful to your opponents is a priority.
