Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 4
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: I want to hear the stock issues but can lean toward a good policy maker argument. I want to see a clear clash of the flow of the round. I want to see a good, strong debate of the aff plan that is presented. Debate is done before an audience like other speech events, so I want to clearly understand the speaker and their arguments. If you speak to fast and I can't understand you, it will be difficult for you to win the round. Presentation and professionalism is important.
