I competed in CX debate and Informative Extemp speaking all throughout high school and absolutely loved it. I have the experience of what it is like to be on the competing side of the event so I think that would really help me be a good judge

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I think in order to be a good debater, you must be able to effectively communicate your ideas. I am not a fan of spreading and would prefer if you spoke clearly but didn't necessarily cover all of your points. Of course having sufficient evidence and making convincing arguments is very important to winning the round, but I am mostly looking for a great communicator who can capture my attention and convince me to choose them.
