Judging qualifications:
I was inspired by my UIL coach in High School to become a professional actress and teacher. My preferred events at the time were Dramatic Interp, Duet acting (won district) and One Act. I also debated, and have since judged for events and subbed for the debate teacher at St. Marks School of Texas. I have adjudicated at The International Thespian Festival (EdTA) in Lincoln Nebraska, and conducted workshops there and at Southeast Theater Conference, TETA, and various other State festivals. I am a vocal advocate of Arts in Education, and work with students of all ages, including college level, in acting/creative process.

Evidence philosophy:

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
The spirit of debate is to place an arbitrary onus on each party to rise to the occasion of masterfully blending compelling data with persuasive oration in an ethical way. Equally important components of a strategic debate skill set are basic preparation of research and organization on the one hand, and the fleshing out of the argument with thoughtful, confident audience engagement on the other.
