Judging qualifications:
I competed all 4 years of high school in close to a 100 tournaments with a focus in LD debate and Extemporaneous Speaking. The experience sparked a passion for debate and exploring different argument criterion for achieving a value. I'm able to assess arguments in delivery, execution, consistency, and defensive strategy. I'd also be able to offer descriptive insight and critique on the debaters' ballots and help them grow from the experience of having me as a judge. Not to mention, if you look at my LD and Extemporaneous records, you'd see a majority of wins.

Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
I'd be more willing to give a win to the individual that was able to uphold their Value throughout the Debate, even if their communication skills needed improvement, than to the individual that had a flawed case and argument but better delivery. I believe LD debate should value substance/content more than delivery. However, in the event that both participants have a flawed case and fail to uphold their Value, I'd give a win to the person with better communication/CX skills.
