Judging qualifications:
I have debated extensively and competed in myriad speech and forensic events in many circles. I specialize particularly in CX, where I qualified for TFA state twice and UIL state three times in high school, and have consulted with many schools in my collegiate years. I also write for several CX blogs, and keep up-to-date with the literature of the yearly topics. I would be comfortable judging just about any event indicated above, at any level.

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 8
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: As a tabula rasa judge, I will flow anything a student offers in the round. I primarily debated the K in high school, but am also comfortable and well-versed in the policy realm. I will weigh any argument forwarded with an open mind, and at the end of the day debaters can have a great deal of artistic liberty in a round I judge. Quality debate will win every time; in whatever form it may choose to manifest itself.
