Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I am a Tab judge that will listen to just about everything besides Kritics. Impacts are heavily weighed when I am evaluating the round so if the debater can prove that they win on the arguments provided in the round and their arguments out weigh, then they have a higher chance in winning the round. The debater needs to be able to clearly articulate the points they are trying to present and if an important detail is not mentioned in their speech then that argument will not be weighed in the round (i.e. the debater needs to do the work not me)
LD
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
I am not very familiar with LD so the simpler the better. I want the debater to explain why I should value their argument and give reasoning behind it.
