Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged:
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: I like a clean cross-examination with no attitude. I like points to be made straightforward with no stumbling words. I like eye contact and no stuttering or slurring. Off topic rants will put the opponent in favor.

Rounds judged: 4
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
As stated in my Cx judging philosophy, I like a clean debate without attitude. Eye contact and clear words are important to me. I like the debaters to stay on topic and not go off on tangents. Debate etiquette is very important but the content of your speech will be the ultimate in deciding the winner.
