Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: My CX judging paradigm is largely based in stock issue argument because that provides the logical basis for policies proposed in the case. Both on-and off- case argument is important- no dropped arguments. Debate is as much about honing speaking skills as it is reasoning skills. Lastly, evidentiary support must be meaningful to the case (quality), but there must also be enough evidence to adequately prove the legitimacy of points being made.

I am very open to different styles of LD case making and argumentation, including philosophy/theory-heavy cases, evidence-heavy cases, and non-cases (for Neg). Sign-posting is a must, as is both on- and off- case argument. Speaking quality is important- no spreading!
