Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 25
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I default policy maker, as in the best policy option should win the round unless theoretical issues are involved. However, I am open to any argument that is defended well and impacts the round.

LD

Rounds judged: 5
Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Philosophy:
If you can prove your value and criterion are better and support or deny the resolution than you should win the round. Again, this is a default paradigm and I'm open to any argument that is defended well.
