Judging qualifications:
Freshmen year, I placed 6th in extemp. at District, Sophomore year placed 2nd at district, and 6th at regionals. Sadly, I was not able to compete in district my junior or senior year, but placed at many invitationals. Junior year, I received top speaker for CX at district and 2nd overall advancing my partner and I to state going 2-2. My thought on extemp is the quality of the speech that is being presented. A judge knows who the best speaker of the round is by how they present the information they researched, their voice structure and how well the speech they are presenting flows.
