Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 80+
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: I consider myself Tabula Rasa as I consider it important for the debaters to determine the nature of the debate. I value argument explanation before evidence quality although there are obviously times investigating the quality of evidence is necessary. Ultimately I find the best debating comes from debaters that know which arguments they are winning and then go on to explain why those arguments are of greater importance than the ones their opponents have proposed.

Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Please look to my CX philosophy as I tend to evaluate both debates similarly.
