Judging qualifications:
I debated on the national, local, and regional circuit in high school for four years. I am still involved in the community and judge debates from time to time. I am majoring in Economics and have an academic and professional interest in the subjects discussed in CX debates. I am invested in supporting policy debate as an alumni because of my belief that it is the greatest extra-curricular activity that kids can do whilee attending high school or college.

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 21
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: In a normal policy debate where there is no meta-level discussion of framework and judging I just usually default to a offense-defense "policy maker" approach in evaluating arguments and deciding the outcome. However, I can always be persuaded to judge the debate in another way as long as the arguments for the different approach are warranted, impacted, and compared with the other team's competing framework.
