Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
I believe a balanced combination of confidence, speaking style, and substantive logic and data are all of equal importance. I feel some often place too much emphasis on speaking style and lack in quality data and logic, and vice versa. I would look for the philosophy behind the value structure of the case. Having solid delivery and a structured, free-flowing logical argument lacking holes is extremely important. While it does not carry as much weight, I believe a competitor must also maintain respect for their opponent throughout the debate.
