Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 45
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: The students need to hit the stock issues, speak in a moderate tone( with little to no extreme speed), while remaining courteous to their opponents. All students should remember the basic rules of debate and follow UIL policy, not NFL policy, while at a meet run on UIL rules.

Rounds judged: 8
Approach: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Lincoln Douglas debaters should resolve the issue in clear and concise arguments with few, to no, strange tangents or discussions.
