Judging qualifications:
Extemp - I was third place in Persuasive at Distric-1979. I am well read in the news all over the world. I enjoy listening to a well thought speech whether it is informative or persuasive. Lincoln Douglas- my paradigm is a clash between the values and criterion of opponents. Cross examination needs to focus on attacking opponent instead of having cx'er have opponent repeat their value and criterion all over again.

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 20 +
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: Stock issues. Want to hear the opponents attack the plans via c/x or counterplan. Spreading to point where you cannot breath due to rapid delivery is a big negative for me.

Rounds judged: 20 +
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Attacking each other's values and criterion is my chief observation to make decision. Having opponent repeat information during c/x is a waste of precious time.
