Judging qualifications:
I am a middle school band director in west Houston. I competed in UIL Poetry Interpretation and One Act Play in high school. While still in HS (1998-2002), I judged MS invitational meets. While in college (2002-2007), I judged two UIL District meets in Conference AA as well as two invitational tournaments. I also judged speech events for a middle school district meet in 2008 while I was teaching music. Though I have not been actively judging for the past two years, I keep abreast of UIL rules and categories for the oral interpretation events and would welcome the opportunity to judge any poetry or prose event.
