I competed in both Extemporaneous Speaking and Lincoln Douglas Debate for four years in high school. I attended many invitational meets and competed at the district meet each year in both events. I competed at the regional level in LD Debate. I placed second at the Academic State Meet in 1999 in Informative Speaking.

Approach: Equal
LD debate should center on a discussion of opposing values while negating or affirming the resolution. Debaters should focus on persuading me that the value they are presenting is the superior one in the round, and all proof and arguments should support this. I also feel that communication is key in LD debate. A debater must be able to communicate his ideas clearly and make use of the time allotted.
