I participate in all three events during the course of my high-school career. I was a policy debater at (Mount Pleasant) Chapel Hill for four years. I am a UIL Policy Debate State Octafinalist, Quarterfinalist, and Semifinalist. I also participated in the 2011 Baylor Invitational. I did Extemp during my Senior year. I participated in LD my freshman year. I was Debate Captain both my junior and senior year so I have plenty of knowledge regarding LD and Extemp.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: tabula rosa
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: equal
Paradigm: I want the debaters to tell me how and why to vote. Without framework, I default to a policymaker paradigm. If you are running Kritiks be sure to understand them yourself and be able to explain them to me. I'm fine with any form of argument as long as you can explain it well and apply it to the round. Dropped arguments are concessions. I can handle speed, but I will adapt to UIL regulations. Ask questions about anything else before the round.

LD

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Equal
Philosophy:
I want to be told how to vote in the round. Don't make me do the work. Be able to fully explain your value and criteria. Back up arguments with some evidence. I'm open to all forms of philosophy. This isn't to say I will be comfortable/knowledgable of what you are saying if the philosophy is dense or complicated, but I will listen to it. Please signpost! Give roadmaps! I vote based on the value clash and who best upholds their value through their criteria and link.
