Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged:
Judging approach: policy maker
Policy priority: Communication Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: the quality of an argument and the manner in which it is carried out throughout the round is very important. Extending arguments and making them clear as to why they outweigh is crucial.

Rounds judged:
Approach: Equal
Throughout the round the standard, should always be carried out consistently. Making arguments clear and strong (eg why they outweigh opponents). No matter what a participant argues on paper does not matter, what matters is how these arguments debated throughout the round. This is how a person will be judged in the round.
