I partcipated in C-X debate all four years of high school. During my C-X career, I won the top speaker award, placed in every meet I attended from my sophmore year on, and went to State my senior year. I was C-X captain my Junior and Senior years of high school, and often taught C-X debate rules, procedure, and etiquette to the rest of the class. As a freshman in college, I judged several events and assisted in teaching the debate students at Taylor High School.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged:
Judging approach: stock issues
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: equal
Paradigm: I believe the affirmative needs to cover all the stock issues with plenty of relevant and current proof. The negative should counter every stock issue, and I like a good and reasonable disadvantage argument, as well. I will not listen to kritiks because I do not feel it is the responsibility of the negative to attack the resolution, but to only attack what the affirmative has presented. I will only accept counterplans if they are topical, reasonable, and accompanied by attacks of the stock issues the affirmative presented. Eloquence in presenting logical arguments is essential and I prefer to not listen to rapid fire or speakers that speak too fast. I am interested in content and presentation, not trying to keep up with someone speaking.
