Judging qualifications:
As a previous debater, coach, and judge, I have knowledge of all the above areas. I was an assistant coach for 2 years and have been in the judging circuit the past 3 years. I've judged many tournaments sanctioned by UIL, TFA, and NFL districts. I am qualified to judge all events except CX Debates. Debate is great and I love every opportunity I get to be a part of it, especially through judging.

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 2
Judging approach: policy maker
Policy priority: Issues
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: I do not prefer to judge CX.

Rounds judged: 26
Approach: Equal
Debator must have good communication skills with audience including a clear understanding of contentions and standpoint based on the resolution. Debator must play defensive role if on Affirmative Value and debator must play offensive role if on Negative Value. Attacking and cross applying is a plus for debator in round. Which ever total value (communication skills, impact, warrent, claim) weighs more, that debator will recieve a win.
