Judging qualifications:
During my first two years in high school, I participated a lot in extemporaneous speaking. It helped a lot with my ability to speak more fluently about current events and adapt a speech to many types of judges. Cross-Examination debate was my primary event, and I participated all throughout high school. I competed on many different levels. I was a 3-time qualifier for TFA State, making it to out rounds. I qualified for UIL State alternate my sophomore year, and won 1st in my district my senior year. I debated both nationally and locally in Houston.

Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged: 10
Judging approach: tabula rosa
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: I can listen to any arguments the Aff and Neg want to present. I think if you ask the judge to vote as a policy maker, then he should do so unless contested by the opposing team. The same goes for any other frameworks. But, I'm not going to vote on just anything because you extended it. I need to know you have a good grasp on the link to the Aff, etc. At UIL, I feel its more important to compete on a level that shows you have a full understanding of the mechanics and fundamentals of cross-examination debate.
