Judging qualifications:
Having participated in the State CX Debate meet and regional Persuasive Speaking in high school, most of my junior and senior years were dedicated solely to speech and debate. Also, I am a third year Speech Communication major at Baylor University. My duties as a full-time student have thus far prevented me from judging any rounds this year, but due to my being a Speech Communication major I am very familiar with the CX topic, as well as maintained proficiency in Speech/Debate since High School. I have definitely not "gotten rusty."
Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: tabula rosa
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: I am a Tabula rasa judge that defaults to Policymaker. I prefer to see good communication rather than just getting as many arguments in as possible during the allotted time.
