Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged:
Judging approach: tabula rosa
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: equal

Rounds judged: 20+
Approach: Equal
My paradigm on LD places significant importance on traditional clash of the value and criterion. The winner of the rounds I watch will rely upon one debater to prove that their own standard/criterion is preferable to their opponent's - giving me a weighing mechanism for the round - and then the person who is most consistent under that standard will be selected. If it is difficult to choose whose framework I should use or how to evaluate the round, I tend to default to a risk or cost / benefit analysis and weigh the impacts of the contentions.
