Judging Philosophy

Rounds judged:
Judging approach: stock issues
Policy priority: Equal
Evidence philosophy: quality
Paradigm: I like to see debaters take evidence and analyze it, and then associate the analysis to the resolution, be it affirmative or negative. I enjoy seeing debaters ask pertinent cx questions that indicate that they have researched the resolution and have determined its strengths and weaknesses. I want to see debate partners work together in tandem to provide clear logic and transition.

Rounds judged:
Approach: Equal
Students must have ample knowledge of the values they associate with the resolution. Without understanding of the major values, a debater cannot effectively argue a Lincoln-Douglas resolution.
